The Belfast, ME dredge job consisted of the removal of 97,000 c.y. including the blasting and removal of roughly 10 c.y. of bedrock. The dredged and blasted material was disposed of 15 miles away offshore of Rockland, ME. The dredge SAMSON III and dump scows SE-103 and SE-104 were used for the completion of the project. Ice and freezing temperatures make any situation tough, fortunately Burnham Associates completed the project without mishap.
