In the fall of 2021, BAI was contracted to dredge approximately 130,000 CY of mainteance material from the North and South Access Channels, the North Anchorage, and “L” Pier approach channel for the Town of Wellfleet which was to be disposed of at the Cape Cod Bay Disposal Site. The project’s tight environmental deadline and high volume of maintenance material required the services of AGM Marine Contracting’s dredge TRITON to ensure timely completion. BAI’s dredge SAMSON III and the AGM dredge TRITON worked in unison to complete the dredging by the December 31 deadline to project parameters despite numerous weather delays and an unexpectedly high amount of rapid infilling from Duck Creek, north of Wellfleet Harbor. Thanks to the adaptability of the crews and project management, the project was cleared as substantially complete by the project engineer, GEI, just prior to the environmental deadline. Ancillary pile replacement work was completed by AGM during the month of January 2022 to the Town’s satisfaction.
