“743”

The 743 is a 650 cubic yard capacity dump scow built for the U.S. Army in 1950. The 743 is a 6 pocket scow much like the 742 also re-fit with automatic hydraulically actuated dumping doors and remotely dumped leaving the “743” unmanned.  This vessel is 140’ x 36’x 11’ tall.  It is also ABS, Loadline certified, has USACE Silent Inspector system installed and is ADISS certified.  This vessel has shallow draft and can be used to place, cap or cover material as well as the transfer of contained sediments.

Scow 743 was purchased form the U.S. Army in 2001. Built in 1950 in Burmingham, AL, at Ingalls Shipyard. SCOW 743 spent its entire service life on the Great Lakes. This accounts for the remarkably well preserved condition of the vessel. The 743 is 140ft. long 36ft. wide AND 11ft. deep. She has six pockets with mechanically operated doors.
Dump scows SE103 and SE104 shown during an extensive re-fit in Boston, MA during the summer of 2005.

The SE103 and SE104 are six pocket bottom dump scows. Their dimensions are 170ft. long by 43ft wide with a moulded depth of 16 ft.
