Client: USCG Station Jonesport

Project: USCG Station Jonesport Dredging

Value: $416,530

Date: Jan 2012 – Feb 2012

Point of Contact: Dan Walker USCG

USCG Station Jonesport Dredging was a small project of 8,750 cubic yards, dredging out the docks and boathouse at the Jonesport Coast Guard Station. Two different dredge footprints were to be dug to -10’ and -12 MLLW. The real obstacle with Jonesport was digging in and around the boat house, which had limited height for the Bucyrus Erie to reach under. Along with the limited height on the project, limited width was also a concern. The North side of the boat house was too narrow for the SAMSON III to fit into, therefore the STRIDER was equipped with a hydraulic 1 yard clamshell bucket and power pack to dredge around the dock. All material was transferred by the 600 c.y. dump scow “743” to a designated area 8 miles off of Jonesport. The project ran smoothly and closed out in just under a month.
