Union River Dredge Project consisted of dredging roughly 112,000 cubic yards of material. A Komatsu excavator was placed on the dredge SAMSON III for hard bottom digging. The project was prolonged due to an underestimation of rocks dredged. The value was almost doubled, as well as the time for completion. Along with the dredge SAMSON III, the pushboat MANTIS and 600 c.y. dump scow were able to muscle through this job.
